Sleep out!

We slept out under the stars the other night... it was perfect weather for sleepin' on the tramp. Ben and Vincent hauled out the pillows and sleeping bags and Rae took out the bug spray and we all cozied up and looked at constelations. We saw tons of satelites and a even a few shooting stars. I woke up before the others and took a few pictures, it was really fun. Looks like we'll be sleeping out quite a bit this summer! :)

Rae's year end revue

So, here we are... Rae's first year of dance classes has come to an end. We drove to Magna (with the Higgins in their sweet new van) where we met Grandma Doris and Grandpa Brian at Cyprus High School. My good friend, Sydney, saved us some great seats right up front. (Thank you!) I am sure that it is a pretty nice auditorium when the air conditioning works, however, it was VERY HOT!!!

Thank goodness we had some darling little girls who entertained us for the two hours of extreme heat. Rae was excited to perform again and I think she is the best in her class. (Yes, I know all mothers think that, but it's true). Vincent was so proud of his little sister. Can ya tell?

I do think that I will start looking for a different studio. I really don't think she learned much more than I could teach her myself. I think for the amount of money we've put out she should at least know her first position from second. And to be honest, the dance she did in her preschool promotion was just as cute as this one. What do you all think? Gimme advice.

At least they have darling costumes and she did have a great time at class. But I'd rather save the money... she has just as much fun dancing with the daycare kids here at home. :) I have signed her up already for summer dance and we are trying tumbling just to see what she thinks. Maybe she'll love tumbling more and we'll just stick with that. I guess time will tell.

Random Pictures

Now that Jason is gone for the summer, (he's working as a kayak guide on the Salmon River up in Idaho for the next 7 1/2 weeks), these two are going to have to stick together. I must admit that this is a good start. We are lucky to have such good kids who actually really like each other... at least most of the time. :)

Jason did get to go to EFY this year. He had an AWESOME time, but refused to take a camera. This is the only picture I got.

Ben decided to prove that he can grow facial hair. He had me take this lovely picture right before he shaved. Hooray!

Lagoon with the Erkies

We had a great time at Lagoon with Cindy and her family. Katie was in a clogging competition, so we got discounted tickets and who can pass up discounted tickets to good old Lagoon? Obviously not us! I must admit that I enjoyed hanging out with my awesome sister Cindy while taking little girls on little girl rides. Not that I don't like going on little girl rides by any means... I absolutely LOVE the Ladybug Bop... but there is just something about sisterly bonding, ya know?

Of course the teenagers and tweeners took off as soon as we got there, so as usual, I only have one picture of the older kids. They all had a blast though.

Two-headed monster

It's great that these two girls can have so much fun together

They are best friends, so close that they can break each others hearts like no one else ever could. This is their new favorite past time, finding BIG sweatshirts and becoming the fierce two-headed monster. Gotta love 'em!

Kentucky

Lucky me... I got to go to Louisville for baby Alayna's blessing. It was so great to go visit my Booboola on her own turf. (Pet name for Jo for those of you who are wondering what the heck a Booboola is). It was fun to hang out in the Sorenson's house. They have a pretty nice house for struggling dental students... hmmm... :) Jo definitely has a talent for decorating. We had so much fun, just hanging out and being together, it was really cool to share Jo with Mom and Brian and Trish and Kelly and Justin's parents. Alayna is beautiful, as you can tell... I had to post this picture of her in this daaaaarling outfit, (yes, from me). Jordan was pretty cute himself.

Rae's Preschool Promotion

Raeannen's preschool program was really cute. It was to a rockin' 50's theme and her teacher, Miss Lindsay, is so creative. She and her assistant , Assinette, made little poodle skirts for all the girls. They gave the boys sunglasses and had them all wear white t-shirts and jeans. They were so adorable! Anyway, Rae was very excited about her trophy, obviously! The following video is the girls dancing to "Lollipop". Watch it if ya have time, it is pretty cute.
Rae's teacher is awesome. She taught the kids so many things... I don't think I would've been explaining much about the differences between stalagmites and stalagtites with my 5 year old. And of course, we always love sharing these fun experiences with Bailey. :)

Vincent moves on to Jr. High

Vincent is now a proud graduate of Rose Springs Elementary School here in Stansbury Park. We are so proud of him. After 6 years of education, education and more education mixed in with a little fun and friends, he finally walked away with a "Certificate of Completion" and he is ready to head on to JR HIGH!

Vincent's teacher, Mr. Robison, was kind enough to stop and grace us with a picture. Vince had some really cool friends this year.
Way to go bug!
